Alison Limentani has a degree in Animal Behavior and worked as a zookeeper before training as a veterinary nurse. She is passionate about drawing animals, and sharing her knowledge about them, which led her to complete a Master’s of Art in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art in England. She teaches children’s art classes at London Zoo and creates images using traditional printmaking techniques.

Whale Ruler craft activity

In this craft workshop will use collage techniques to decorate rulers with characters from my book How Long is a Whale? We will start by reading the book as a group and looking at the concept of length and measurements. Then the children can choose from an array of ocean animals to create fun stationary to take home at the end of the session.

Suitable for ages 3 -6 years
